                             Tickets $45 pre-paid before Oct. 24
                             $50 after Oct. 24, 2008. No tickets will be sold at the door.

 Congratulations to our 2008 Graduates

Lalaine A. Papel, Bachelor of Music in Music Education with honors. University of Florida.
Lalaine is the youngest daughter of Nes and Del Papel.

Rosanne R. Pagaduan daughter of Dave Pagaduan was presented her "White Coat" during a
formal ceremony at the University of Florida, College of Pharmacy.
FAVS awarded the first $500 scholarship to Krystle Basilio of Sandalwood High School during FAVS picnic at NAS
Mayport Florida on July 4, 2008.

Krystle Basilio graduated with a 3.63 GPA was an active member of the National Honor Society and American Sign Language Honor Society in which she
held the title and position as treasurer.  Krystle was also a member of the Environment Club in which she also held the title and position as treasurer. She
earned 196 total hours of volunteer community service with the Atrium Nursing Home assisting the elderly, after school tutoring to students of special
needs and also volunteered during the 2005 through 2008 Annual World of Nations Celebration. Her continued educational plans are to attend the
University of North Florida in the fall of 2008 and major in biology with ambitions of pursuing a career in the medical field.  Krystle is the daughter of U. S.
Navy retired veteran and fellow FAVS member Francisco and Jean Basilio of Jacksonville.

Greetings Everyone,

I would like to extend a sincere thank you to everyone who was able to attend  our annual picnic. I would also like to thank the Honorable Florida State Representative
Stan Jordan for taking time from his busy schedule and joining us with the picnic. The food was fabulous and plentiful. Kudos to the cooks! Everyone did an
outstanding job! Lastly, I want to extend a warm welcome to our four new members whom signed on during the picnic. We look forward to working with you in the
future to help and assist our veterans and families.
Our next big event is the Veterans Ball in which the 2008 Veterans Ball Committee team has been working on "Full Speed Ahead". Further information and
announcements will be forthcoming via email in regards to the Veterans Ball. You can also check our website: filamvetsociety.com for additional news on the fast
approaching Veterans Ball.
