NOVEMBER 11 - VETERANS DAY PARADE, DOWNTOWN JACKSONVILLE, FAVS AND FIL-AM COUNCIL
NOVEMBER 12 - VETERANS BALL, RAMADA AT MANDARIN
NOVEMBER 26 - MRS. PHILIPPINES CORONATION BALL, HYATT REGENCY RIVERFRONT
DECEMBER - CHRISTMAS PARTY, POST VBC AND INDUCTION BALL MEETING

A VERY SPECIAL THANKS TO THOSE WHO HELPED PUT THIS PICNIC TOGETHER:
Dave Pagaduan – Reserved the Pavilion, Coordinated the base entry, Chairman Scholarship committee, certificates & prizes, brought 2 tables, etc. Connie Villanueva
– cleaned & set-up tables, coordinated buffet tables, coordinated the charcoal grill & helped cooked BBQ, facilitated games, cleanup, etc. Zeny Arzaga – cleaned and
set-up tables, cooked breakfast; (tapa & longonisa), helped coordinated buffet tables, clean up, etc. Art and Yvonne Gandionco – Loaned us his BBQ GAS grill, and
cooked pancit, clean up, bought 4 cases of ice and chilled, helped set up picnic area, served dinner at his RV and facilitated the halo-halo time on board his RV .
Yvonne helped cooked & served breakfast, helped set up tables, clean up, etc. Pio Timones – helped setup, etc. Rene Laguador – helped Albert Montemayor setup
the DJ equipments. Albert Montemayor – Coordinated the music and entertainment and PA system. Bert Laberinto – Assisted Albert in setting up.
To the rest of the crew:
Thanks to Al Delorito for taking charged of the BBQ gas grill, etc. Many thanks to Julian for taking charged of the charcoal grill and ensuring that meats are fully cooked
prior to serving it, etc. Romy Go, thanks for helping Julian and bringing some ice, etc Nick Chan, helped coordinated games, and announced the new member. Nes
Papel, Chairman of the Board, Dave Pagaduan along with Joseph Lipat, 2010 Scholarship Winner presented the 2011 Scholarship $500 to Ms. Kiara Sanchez.

FAVS ANNUAL PICNIC - July 2, 2011
Ms. Reed, who is a former U S. Air Force Captain and Miss Catanduanes, was selected during the March 2011 FAVS general
membership meeting at Pancitan. She is an active member of the Society and is currently serving with the Board of Directors.
The pageant is sponsored by the Knights of Rizal Ladies’ Auxiliary. All proceeds from ticket sales and other fundraising
events will benefit the Philippine Community Center currently under construction in Clay County, Florida.
A luau was held June 18th at American Legion Post 316 at Atlantic Blvd. to kick off the fund raising event.
Air Force Veteran EUGENIA “Nena” REED will represent the Filipino American Veterans Society, Inc. during their 2011 NE Florida Mrs. Philippines Pageant.
