FAVS SUPPORT THE CITY OF JACKSONVILLE'S 2008 VETERANS STAND DOWN

The City of Jacksonville successfully finished the Annual Veterans Stand Down at the Agricultural Fair Grounds that are very important to the military community.
For those of you unfamiliar with this it is an annual effort to reach at-risk Veterans with needed services and assistance.  This is shaping up as our best
ever…with medical, dental, barbers, food + clothing, bicycles, employment fair (Friday), personal/hygiene supplies and Veteran benefit registration/claims
assistance.  The promoters served more than 400 Veterans from our community that need assistance.  FAVS was there Friday and Saturday and among the
volunteers are: Joe Flores, Art Gandionco, Rudy Alcantara, Dave Pagaduan, Don and Connie Villanueva, Fred Cabales, Bob Bontilao, Nes Papel, Albert
Montemayor and Ding Sabio.

the Jacksonville Veterans Affairs. The Veterans Standown is annually sponsored by the City of Jacksonville Veterans Services.

                               Veterans Day Parade November 12, 2007                                   
The Filipino American Veterans Society and in cooperation with the FIL-AM COUNCIL of NE Florida participated the
Veterans Day Parade in downtown Jacksonville, Monday November 12 at 11:00 am. Brigadier General Oscar Hilman,
Retired from Tacoma WA was FAVS parade Grand Marshall accompanied by his wife Patty.

And the march begins with John Wilde and Romy Go carrying the FAVS banner followed by Dave Pagaduan, Rey Sanalila and David          
Malinag with the flags. Following behind are Del Papel and Cissy McNamara carrying the Fil-Am Council banner.
