Flores, and Bob Bontilao took their time off and be a part of this wonderful event traveled to Kissimmee Florida to attend the Bataan Corrigedor annual
celebration. Bob said, "I can never be any prouder for the professionalism displayed by the folks who participated in the BCM ceremony". Three WWII vets in their
90's were there as honorees, along with our own Pat Ganio the only Bataan death March survivor in that group.
Jim Swann, mayor of Kissimmee, State Rep. Atkisson, who sponsored the BCM Memorial, City of Kissimmee officials, and County commissioners were there to
proclaim the day as Filipino American Friendship Day. Two proclamations were announced, one by the State, and one by the City of Kissimmeee.
Officers of FAVA, a local veterans organization in Orlando which has been in existence for 20 plus years, were impressed by our activities. They have been
monitoring our activities in tour website, and want to connect with us to rekindle their veterans activities in the area.
Once again, the BCM committee and members of different organizations in Orlando and Kissimmee, and of Seminole, Osceola, and Orange Counties wish to
express their thanks and gratitude to the officers and members of FAVS, for inspiring them on this memorable and heritage-filled celebration.
